Past and Future of Disability Housing

Over the past decade, I’ve seen the disability housing landscape change in ways many of us couldn’t have imagined.

Before the NDIS, options for people with disability were limited and often fell short of delivering true choice and control. 

Then came the NDIS, promising participants more say in where and how they live.

Fast forward to today, and we’ve made real strides. Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) is lifting standards, new designs are reshaping independence and there’s more collaboration between providers, support coordinators, SIL agencies and families than ever before. 

But we’ve also faced serious tests, none bigger than COVID, which highlighted just how vital safe, quality housing is for our the most vulnerable members of the community.

At GR8, we’ve not only adapted, we’ve anticipated change. 

By being a Licensed Real Estate Agency, we’ve set a new benchmark in compliance and participant protection. 

We’ve also championed flexible home designs and built strong relationships across the sector to ensure every project truly works for the people who will call it home.

Looking ahead, we believe the future of disability housing in WA is about more than bricks and mortar.
